Voting Day!

Chris voted today before work. He waited in line for 3 hours! Apparently, Laveen had the longest lines in the Valley all day. They are realizing now that with all the growth in this area, they need more than 2 polling places. Max and Chris are in the background of the news for about 3 seconds! (go to :52). If you watch the whole thing, crack up like we did at all the tractors! I however, went out to vote around 2pm and was in and out and back to work within about 10 minutes! (Well, after a quick trip to Starbucks first.) Anyway, can you say "Absentee ballot"??!!?

Some how tonight, I started watching this pbs special   http://www.pbs.org/pov/pov2008/criticalcondition/

Did you see it? It was all about the 47 million people in the US who don't have health care and the 80 million who are under insured. It was heart-wrenching. I already have a cold, so this tear jerker was NOT good timing!

I thought about years when I was younger I went without health insurance. I thought about the time after Chris was laid off work and we paid for our health insurance ourselves for a year. It was one of our largest bills at the time. We were newly married, and it was a strain, but at least we could. It makes me think of how I want Max to be aware of how important it is to maintain health insurance. And it reminded me there are only a few days left if you still need to register to vote.

My travel schedule the last month has been just too insane:

  • April 2-5–took Max to La Quinta, CA for Spring Break. Met Sherri and her boys. Great fun!
  • April 10-13–Disneyland — another fun trip!
  • April 14-16–Dallas and Houston for work
  • April 21-23–Chicago and Minneapolis for work
  • April 28-30–Los Angeles for work
  • HOME THIS WEEK!
  • Los Angeles next week for work.

All the while trying to keep my head above water with the new structure at work.

Been crazy, but hopefully settling down a tad now.

Not doing so good on the ole blog!

I think it’s only my Mom and Chris who come here anyway! 😉

My work was restructured and I basically have a new job, sort of. The last 3 weeks have been non-stop at work so I just haven’t been up for being on the computer when I get home.

Max and I leave tomorrow to meet my BFF Sherri and her boys in Palm Springs for 3 days for Spring Break. I’ve been calling it "MAX AND MOMMA–SPRING BREAK ’08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"  LOL!!

So, if you still come here to check my blog….I’m promise to get back into the swing of things soon!
